Facebook Live Q & A with The Scholarship System

On June 1, 2020 my colleague, Florence Lehr, and I were invited by The Scholarship System (https://thescholarshipsystem.com/) to discuss college admissions in the age of Covid-19 live on Facebook. In addition to this event, Florence and I have been doing a series of webinars on this subject which have been really successful.

Here’s the link to our live Facebook event with Jocelyn of The Scholarship System: https://vimeo.com/user43771562/download/425091756/f86eab953f

Thanks for watching!

Johns Hopkins HOME Program: October 10-12, 2019

  • Google Calendar ICS

I encourage eligible students interested in Hopkins to check this out and apply!

Greetings! We hope you're enjoying the start of summer! We're excited to announce that applications are now open for the Hopkins Overnight Multicultural Experience (HOME) on October 10–October 12, 2019.

— About the program

HOME is an on-campus, overnight program connecting African American, Black, Latinx, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, and multiracial high school seniors to the people, organizations, and resources that unite our multicultural community.

This is an opportunity for students to get a first-hand look at what Hopkins is all about, from academics to life outside the classroom to student organizations, as they spend time on our campus and hear from our current students.

Students who are accepted to the HOME Program will learn more about the university's commitment to underrepresented students. With offices dedicated to celebrating and supporting students of all backgrounds, initiatives to recruit more faculty members of color, and the most diverse incoming class to date, Hopkins seeks to foster a diverse and inclusive campus community. We hope you will encourage your talented rising seniors to apply for this opportunity.

Space for HOME is limited and an application is required. Students interested in participating should visit the HOME website for more information and to apply.

Please share this information with any seniors you think would be a good match for HOME. If you or your students have any additional questions, please contact us at home.program@jhu.edu. We hope your students will choose to apply for this unique overnight experience at Johns Hopkins!

I had an amazing time presenting at the annual Higher Education Consultants Association conference in Providence, RI. The topic was: “Advising Transfer Students: Understanding and Assisting this Growing Population.” My panelists were James Massey from the University of Maryland, Mary Bubar from Roger Williams University and Sandra Miller from Providence College. My co-presenter was Missy Evans-Moreland.
